Bio Fouling

While ballast water is essential for safe and efficient modern shipping operations, the multitude of marine species carried in it pose serious ecological, economic and health problems. Biofouling is also considered one of the main vectors for bioinvasions and is described as the undesirable accumulation of microorganisms, plants, algae and animals on submerged structures (especially ships’ hulls).

MES supports you that your ships reducing the risk of establishment of invasive aquatic species which may pose threats to human, animal and plant life, economic and cultural activities and the aquatic environment.

Noise Pollution

Continuous noise onboard ships can have an adverse impact on human health. The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) conducted a code setting out mandatory maximum noise level limits for machinery spaces, control rooms, workshops, accommodation and other spaces on board ships.

Studies have shown that underwater-radiated noise from commercial ships may have both short and long-term negative consequences on marine life, especially marine mammals. We address noise from commercial shipping and its adverse impact on human and marine life understanding the impact of noise from shipping and its need to prevent the risk of exposure.
